Another Sweet Colorado Springs Elopement!

Colorado elopement pictures

The bride wore white — a white sweater and jeans, that is! Courtney and Tyler got married their way, in jeans on a beautiful Colorado Springs mountainside, with no witnesses but me and my trusty assistant Joy. Have I mentioned that I love doing elopement photography? As you can imagine, it’s different from documenting a regular wedding, because it’s just me and the couple, there aren’t any wedding details or family portraits or traditions like cutting the cake or throwing the bouquet. This elopement was even more casual than most, though, as you can see! We hiked up to the perfect spot on the Section 16 trail, chatting about this and that as we went. Here’s a fun coincidence: when I asked Courtney where she was from, she told me that she was from Dayton, Ohio. I mentioned that I went to junior high and my first year of high school there, and we discovered that she and I actually went to the same school! What a small world!

After a little over a mile of hiking, we came to the spot that Tyler had picked out just days before, and with a gorgeous, expansive view behind them they said their heartfelt vows, exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a passionate kiss. It was so romantic! Then we wandered around a bit to take some romantic portraits, as the snow began drifting down. It was just wonderful and I enjoyed every minute! Congratulations and all the best, Tyler and Courtney!

Colorado Springs elopement :: Kim + Chris

I sometimes get asked if I do small weddings, and my answer is that I love small weddings! I especially love elopements, when it’s just me, the officiate and the happy couple. It’s the sweetest! Oftentimes it’s a couple like Kim and Chris, who are in their fifties, each with grown children, and taking a second chance at love and lifetime commitment. They opted to get married at a private spot in Palmer Park that had a beautiful view of the mountains and the city. As you can see, they’re madly in love! Congratulations Chris and Kim!
