Cheyenne Mountain Resort wedding: Alexandra & Rick

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

Happy New Year! I can’t believe that it’s 2011! I’d love to show you some images from my last wedding of 2010. Alexandra and Rick had their wedding and reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Even though it was literally the shortest day of the year (and technically the first day of winter), we got really lucky with a balmy, sunshiny afternoon. Even so, the ceremony was a very brief five minutes, just in case! Alexandra took her style cues from 1930’s Hollywood, and boy did she look glamorous. The jewelry, the fishnet veil, the sleek updo — she looked like a starlet with a handsome leading man on her arm. Warmest congratulations Alex and Rick, your wedding was fabulous!

Alex is a big Chicago Bears fan. (Yes, she wore these Bears undies under her wedding gown!)

Handsome Rick!

A few moments before walking up the aisle, Alex captured a friend’s eye and stuck out her tongue.

Rick watching his bride process up the aisle. Wonderful capture by my assistant Allison.

I love the baby grand at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and have have been meaning to use its reflective surface in a portrait like this. It came out great!

No big fancy cake — instead, designer cupcakes. How cool is that?!?

Alex’s grandma, with whom she’s very close, was surprised by a round of Happy Birthday and her own custom cupcake. She turned 90 a couple of days later.

That’s Alex’s mom on the left, giving her a kiss.

Da Bears!
