Air Force Academy wedding: Emily & Alex

How much do I love my job?!? Emily and Alex have been such a pleasure to work with from minute one! I was so excited when their wedding day finally arrived. They were married in a traditional Catholic mass at the AFA Cadet Chapel, and their wedding reception was at the Colorado Springs Marriott. It was such a great day. Congratulations Alex and Emily!

Emily’s shoes were to DIE for.

Emily’s grandmother, the lady on the right in this picture, sewed the wedding gown. Amazing. She also sewed the veil, the garters, and the bridesmaid dresses.  And she did it all in THREE MONTHS.

Isn’t she a beautiful bride?

Alex and Emily’s ceremony was in the Catholic section of the Cadet Chapel, downstairs from the main chapel.

Married 60 seconds. I live for moments like this.

Alex is an Air Force fighter pilot.  F-16 shaped cookies?  I’ll have one! Or maybe two ;^)

Flying Horse Club wedding: Jaime & David

I’ve been quite lax about blogging lately, but that’s because I’ve been so busy shooting and editing. I finally have a spare minute to update you on what I’ve been doing this summer.  So without further ado, here’s a wedding I should have posted weeks ago! I kicked off my wedding season on May 20th with Jaime and David’s fabulous wedding at the AFA Cadet Chapel and the Club at Flying Horse. It was great! We had perfect, sunny weather, and just the right amount of breeze to lift Jaime’s dramatically long veil. It was such a pleasure documenting these lovebirds on their special day!

Gotta love a bride who wears gold lamé flats!

A detail of Jaime’s gorgeous gown.

The kiss, captured by my assistant Allison. The best thing about this picture is the little blonde flower girl in the foregroud. She can’t stand to watch the smooching — it’s so cute!

I ended my wedding season with Rick and Tatiana’s gorgeous wedding at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel and the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Tatiana looked AMAZING in her fabulous gown, and of course I love all the pomp and circumstance of a military wedding. And even though it was freezing cold out, everyone in the wedding party suffered a few minutes of chill for Rick and Tatiana to get a classic Air Force group shot in front of the many planes on display at the Academy. So worth it! Thanks guys for ending my wedding season with a bang!

It was freezing outside! The wedding party gamely suffered the chill for a few minutes to get this photo for the bride and groom.

The wedding reception was held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

Cadet Chapel wedding: Morgan & Mark!

Did you watch the royal wedding? I did! Yes, Prince William and his bride make a beautiful couple, but I have an even more gorgeous couple to show you! Mark and Morgan’s wedding at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel was perfection. Rain was predicted and we got sunshine, Morgan looked like a modern day Grace Kelly, and Mark was dashing in his dress blues. I love a good old fashioned saber arch, and when zombies enter the fray… well that’s just icing on the proverbial wedding cake!

Grace Kelly, anyone? Wow!

A gust of wind picked up Morgan’s train at just the right moment.

The Cadet Chapel is a beautiful place for a wedding.

Mark and his mom, moments after the ceremony.

Love the stained glass in the Cadet Chapel — gorgeous!

Morgan dancing with her dad.

Mark dancing with his mom.

Mark’s grandmother caught the bouquet, and her reaction was PRICELESS.

The DJ played Thriller so I asked everyone to zombie dance, with hilarious results.

The rings, in front of Mark’s iPhone. I took the picture of them kissing the night before, at the rehearsal, so I could set up this picture the next day.

Brittany & JP’s Cadet Chapel wedding

These images are from a wedding I second shot with my good friend Charlotte Geary in October. Brittany and JP’s wedding at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel was truly a family celebration. As second shooter, I got to hang back and shoot from angles I normally wouldn’t, and capture all the interesting little moments that I might otherwise not get the chance to. As you can see, Brittany is a beautiful girl! She is also one of the most sweet-natured and laid back brides I’ve ever worked with. I only worked the first half of the wedding until Charlotte’s husband Mike stepped in to relieve me, but I really enjoyed my brief time working with Brittany and JP, who is clearly a very happy man!

JP’s watch was a gift from Brittany.

Moments before walking down the aisle, Brittany peeked over her shoulder and gave me an adorable smile.

The sabre arch. I never tire of this tradition!

The interior of the USAFA Cadet Chapel really is quite spectacular. What a great place for a wedding!

I think Brittany looks a little like Anne Hathaway, don’t you?
