Pioneers Museum wedding: Maggie & Eric

What a sincere pleasure it has been working with Maggie and Eric. They’re just so cool! Let’s put it this way: I’ve never had a couple do their first dance to a Zero 7 song, and I’ve never had a father-daughter dance to Bob Marley. That’s how fun and unique this day was :^) Add to that the fact that I finally got to shoot a wedding at the beautiful Pioneers Museum, which only started offering weddings recently, and I can tell you I had a great day! Despite the Waldo Canyon fire and all the added stress that put on them in the days leading up to their nuptials, Maggie and Eric’s wedding was perfect, and so very THEM. Congratulations, guys!

Maggie got ready in one of the big gorgeous suites at the Antlers.
So pretty!
Their first look. Adorable!

The Pioneers Museum has only just started offering weddings, in their historic courtroom. What a cool place to tie the knot!

Married.
In the stretch limo, turning the tables on their poor hardworking photographer ;^)

Manitou Springs wedding: Jodee + Bryce

[ Colorado Springs wedding photography ]

Jodee and Bryce had a gorgeous Colorado day for their late summer wedding — they picked such a nice time of year to get married. Everything about the day was romantic, personal, and sweet. And Jodee had the most radiant smile on her face all day. It was a pleasure to document so much happiness!

Bryce’s daugher S was so sweet. It’s obvious she loves Jodee very much.

One of the “witnesses” to the wedding ;^)

Jodee’s smile could only be described as radiant.

I love that their favors were green. That’s something I can certainly get behind!

Ah, love. Ain’t it grand?

Colorado wedding photojournalism: Carol + Andrew

Andrew and Carol met at Adams State College in Alamosa, over pizza at a mutual friend’s place. They are so cute together! I’d describe their wedding as a perfect blend of the casual and the elegant, with a killer party (karaoke, anyone?) to boot. I should also mention that, since technically Carol and Andrew have been married since last year, theirs was one of the briefest wedding ceremonies I’ve ever documented. I think the processional was actually longer than the ceremony itself ;^) Yes, it was definitely all about the party — and what a fun party it was!

The reality of a crazy wedding day — don’t forget to eat, people!

I’m glad the tradition of a penny in the shoe for good luck still perserveres. Traditions like these are a big part of the fun.

The kiss! Andrew’s brother (in the background) officiated the ceremony.

Not many men could carry off a white tuxedo jacket, but Andrew looks downright elegant.

Andrew’s grandparents. They’ve been married for umpteen years, and you can see how happy they still are together. I just had to get a portrait of them!

Colorado wedding photographer: Angela + Quin’s romantic Manitou Springs wedding

[ wedding photographers in Manitou Springs ]

Shhhhh! Don’t tell anyone they were married a few months ago! Last month Angela and Quin tied the knot again, this time in front of all their loved ones, and it was wonderful. The way he looks at her is so sweet! Angela’s a nurse and Quin’s a sherriff’s deputy — both of them are heroes, is it any wonder they were drawn to each other? Congratulations you two, I was honored to document a little slice of your happiness!

Makeup: Pamela Johson, FaceBodyFX

A funny little moment while Angela was getting ready.

Such a pretty place to get married.

Love this moment! So happy!

Hot!

Besties for life!

In front of the Royal Tavern in downtown Manitou Springs. I’ve always wanted to do a shot like this!

Colorado wedding photography — Janet & Gene’s wedding in Manitou Springs

[ wedding photography in Manitou Springs ]

Janet and Gene were married on June 5th in Manitou Springs, with family members traveling from as far away as Germany to celebrate with them. Most of Janet’s loved ones flew in from New Jersey, which was great because these people know how to party! ;o) We had such a blast, and Janet made me cry three times, darn it. I’m such a sucker for a sentimental bride!

Janet got a little emotional right before Gene was to see her for the first time that day.

Signing the Ketubah

Gene and Janet had a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony, immediately after which he threw her over his shoulder and double-timed it down the aisle, cracking everybody up.

Janet dislikes being photographed — I tried my hardest not to drive her crazy all day! I think she looks excited and beautiful in this photo.

Love the wine cork escort card holders — nice touch!

Janet’s expression was priceless as she was lifted into the air during the Horah. Hilarious!

KILLER party!
