Manitou Springs wedding: Jodee + Bryce

[ Colorado Springs wedding photography ]

Jodee and Bryce had a gorgeous Colorado day for their late summer wedding — they picked such a nice time of year to get married. Everything about the day was romantic, personal, and sweet. And Jodee had the most radiant smile on her face all day. It was a pleasure to document so much happiness!

Bryce’s daugher S was so sweet. It’s obvious she loves Jodee very much.

One of the “witnesses” to the wedding ;^)

Jodee’s smile could only be described as radiant.

I love that their favors were green. That’s something I can certainly get behind!

Ah, love. Ain’t it grand?

Janie + Wally’s intimate garden wedding in Colorado Springs

[ Colorado Springs wedding photography ]

Wally and Janie are both commercial pilots and don’t live here. I’m glad they chose Colorado Springs as the destination for their intimate summer wedding. Only their very nearest and dearest made the trip to witness their vows, for a grand total of 10 people including the bride and groom! I love that. The beautiful Summit House Bed and Breakfast hosted the event in their charming, hidden garden. It was lovely, romantic and very sweet, and I feel honored to have been a small part of it. Congratulations, love birds!

Janie was stunning in her simple J. Crew gown.

This is what you call a gorgeous couple!

I was taking a few portraits of Wally, and turned around to find Janie watching with a blissful expression on her face.

The Summit House is the former home of prominent Colorado Springs family the Olsons — if you’re local you’ll know them by Olson’s Plumbing and Heating. It was built around 1918, and it’s gorgeous.

Colorado wedding photojournalism: Carol + Andrew

[ Colorado Springs wedding photojournalists ]

Andrew and Carol met at Adams State College in Alamosa, over pizza at a mutual friend’s place. They are so cute together! I’d describe their wedding as a perfect blend of the casual and the elegant, with a killer party (karaoke, anyone?) to boot. I should also mention that, since technically Carol and Andrew have been married since last year, theirs was one of the briefest wedding ceremonies I’ve ever documented. I think the processional was actually longer than the ceremony itself ;^) Yes, it was definitely all about the party — and what a fun party it was!

The reality of a crazy wedding day — don’t forget to eat, people!

I’m glad the tradition of a penny in the shoe for good luck still perserveres. Traditions like these are a big part of the fun.

The kiss! Andrew’s brother (in the background) officiated the ceremony.

Not many men could carry off a white tuxedo jacket, but Andrew looks downright elegant.

Andrew’s grandparents. They’ve been married for umpteen years, and you can see how happy they still are together. I just had to get a portrait of them!

Jenn & Marin’s wedding in Colorado Springs

[ Colorado wedding photography ]
On a day that started with rain and hail then progressed to patented Colorado sunshine, Jenn and Marin braved the elements and tied the knot. Jenn painstakingly handmade all the table decor and place cards, and lots of quirky personal touches (like using a baseball bat to swat the bouquet at all the single ladies) were the highlight of this fun wedding. These two are a lot of fun and I just love how close and loving their families are. Congrats Marin and Jenn, it was a great day!!!

Some highly appropriate reactions to getting married, don’t you think?

Gotta love the old skool cake topper and fountain.

Marin’s mom, Hattie, reacting to the maid of honor’s hilarious toast.

The wind-up, the pitch…

…and it’s a home run! What an awesome way to “toss” the bouquet!

The garter was tossed via a football, Marin’s sport throughout high school and college. How fun!

The football/garter toss resulted in a determined tussle between these little cuties.

The shirt says “Mr. Newman”. Newman is Jenn’s maiden name. Wait a minute… who’s wearing the pants here, anyway?!? ;o)

Colorado wedding photography: Noelle + Bob

[ wedding photographers in Colorado ]

Bob, Noelle and their families came all the way from Illinois to celebrate their union. This means I didn’t even get to officially meet them until a couple of days before the wedding, although we had many phone conversations in the run up to their big day. They turned out to be just as lovely in person as they were over the phone. They are the embodiment of midwestern friendliness! Noelle has two sons from a previous marriage, and it was very touching to witness how much Bob cares for those boys, and how much they love him back. It was wonderful to be a part of such a special day. I’m so lucky to be the one who got to document all that love.

Noelle’s ring (above, atop the perfume bottle) was spectacular! I guess Bob REALLY wanted her to say yes ;o)

Bob, captured by my assistant Allison, watches as Noelle is escorted up the aisle by her sons.

In addition to his vow to Noelle, Bob also made a heartfelt vow to his new stepsons as they were presented with pendants. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

There were a lot of adorable kids at this wedding. After dinner they all blew off steam with an impromptu game of tag.
