Wedding pictures in Manitou Springs: Shanda and Marcus

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

Some of my favorite clients! Shanda and Marcus recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, and on the big day I photographed them on the grounds of the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs (many thanks to Allison there for giving us the run of the mansion!). Shanda, who had their first baby less than three short months ago, looked incredible in her original wedding dress, and Marcus got a snappy new suit just for the occasion. They looked hot! And madly in love. Happy anniversary you two!

I love this one!

If you think Marcus and Shanda are gorgeous, you should see their son. He’s PERFECT.

I really like this last shot of Shanda — such dramatic lighting!

Colorado Springs engagement portraits: Alex & Rick

[ Engagement portraits in Colorado Springs ]

Alex and Rick are having their wedding right around Christmastime at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We did their engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago in Cheyenne CaƱon on a beautiful, warm fall day. It was a lot of fun. Even the dogs got into it!

I got exactly three decent pictures with the dogs, Athena and Lady, and exactly one of those had everyone looking my way. Ha! It was worth the effort — what a great portrait :o)

Cheyenne Canon is so beautiful! They ordered a large print of this one. It’s going to look great in their home!

Colorado Springs portrait photography: Andi’s mini session

[ Colorado Springs portrait photography ]

This is Andi, who took advantage of my portrait special mini-sessions that I’ve been doing over the last couple of weekends. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing her a few times over the last three years (she’s a regular!) and I’m always amazed at her perfect complexion, hazel eyes, and that glorious head of hair. Andi recently lost some weight and wanted some fabulous portraits to celebrate. But shhhhh! They’re a Christmas surprise for her boyfriend! (Sorry fellas, she’s off the market!)

Colorado Springs portraits: Kara

This is Kara, who misses her hubby in Afghanistan. And he misses her. So Kara came in for a Luxe Photo Shoot to create some fabulous images for him. And boy, did we create some fabulous images! If you’re thinking about giving glamorous photos to your significant other (or yourself) as a gift, but you’re too shy to go the boudoir route, a Luxe Photo Shoot is for you! It’s the next best thing to being in Vogue — fun, empowering, and best of all you’ll end up with the best photos of yourself that you’ve ever seen. Contact me for more info!

This one’s my fave!

Leo turns one!

[ Colorado Springs portrait studio ]

Behold Leo on his very first birthday! I’ve been documenting his entire first year, and was so happy to be able to work in his official first birthday portraits on the actual day. It’s only been a few short months but I barely recognized him, he’s grown so much! Leo really went for it with the cake smash — he was covered in frosting by the end. What a cute little guy!

Getting good pictures of this active one-year old was like catching the proverbial lightning in a bottle. Leo definitely made me work for it! Here he is flirting for the camera ;o)

Let the madness begin…

Jackson Pollock would have been proud of Leo’s purple interpretation of his first birthday.

Alas, time to clean off the mess. Leo didn’t seem too bummed about it. Turns out he loves hanging out in the sink as much as he loves purple frosting.
