M’s senior portraits in Colorado Springs

Just a few selections from M’s senior portrait shoot a couple of weeks ago. He wanted something different — he wanted Sinatra! Love it! I’m a big Sinatra fan myself, so I had a blast with this.
We took a ton of pictures. Here are a couple of my faves. (FYI the tie is mine. I’ve been dying for a chance to use it in a shoot!)

The B family portraits in Colorado Springs

My good friends Linda and Steve, who are expats permanently based in Rome, Italy (where they own a hotel) and currently living in Bali, recently came home to Colorado with their girls for a whirlwind visit. I’m very fond of Linda and Steve, so maybe that’s why I think they have the most beautiful children, but take a look yourself and tell me if you have ever seen such a gorgeous family. They dropped by my studio the other day just to say hi, and I insisted on an impromptu photo shoot. I’m so glad I did! People, get portraits done from time to time! Especially if you have kids! It’s so worth it.

Paloma, Viola and Guilia

I am in love with this picture!

Oh, those big brown eyes!

I love how this picture is cockeyed and off-center, and Giulia has such a big smile on her face!

Beautiful Linda. We’ve been friends for over 20 years.

I got Steve to crack a smile by telling him to think of his girls.

Can you believe this gorgeous couple has never had a portrait done?!?

Cliff House wedding promotional shoot

The Cliff House in Manitou Springs recently built a new addition to their facility; so recently, in fact, that they didn’t have any photographs of it. With a little help from my friends Alice and Mike, my boyfriend Pat, my assistant Allison, the staff at the Cliff House, makeup artist Pamela Johnson, and florist Rhonda Nichols, I created some images that show off the new Cathedral Spires Pavilion, as well as many of this beautiful venue’s other attributes.
We approached this photo shoot like a real wedding. Alice and Mike were actually married about three years ago, and were gracious enough to volunteer to wear their own wedding clothes for the shoot — not to mention giving up a rare free Sunday afternoon. My boyfriend Pat “officiated” the “ceremony”, while my assistant Allison stood in as the “maid of honor”. Thanks everyone for all your wonderful help with this shoot — the pictures look great!

All of the “getting ready” pictures were done in the Crown Prince Ferdinand suite. Nice!

The beautiful floral designs were created by Rhonda Nichols.

Doesn’t Alice look fabulous?

Proof that I have the bestest guy in the world: Pat, who was exhausted from working all night, nevertheless showed up in a suit and tie to “officiate” the wedding. He looks pretty authentic!

Luisa’s photo shoot

This is Luisa, a recently divorced single mom who wanted some smashing pictures of herself to celebrate where she is now in her life. This is what 45 looks like, people! Luisa and I hit it off immediately. I think she’s as smart and warm-hearted as she is stylish and beautiful. I love her energy and spirit — it’s impossible not to be uplifted when you spend an afternoon with her! We did these portraits in my studio, downtown near the Fine Arts Center, and on the Colorado College campus, where Luisa did a little salsa dancing for the camera. Luisa, you look great!
