Colorado Springs family portraits: meet Baby R !!!

It seems like only yesterday that I was at Jeff and Rachael’s house, documenting their charming backyard wedding. Almost exactly two years later to the day I found myself at their house again, this time making portraits of their beautiful newborn daughter, R. She’s precious, beautiful, perfect. And lucky me, I get to chronicle her entire first year! Our next photo session is coming this weekend. Stand by for more cuteness!

I love black and white baby portraits.

Here are the proud parents! They don’t look too tuckered out from midnight feedings, do they?

I love this one of Rachael kissing her daughter.

A favorite image from their wedding. This was taken in the street in front of their home :^)

Colorado Springs engagement portraits: Molly + Justin

[ engagement portraits in Colorado Springs ]

I’m so behind in blogging! Molly, Justin and I actually took these engagement portraits at Biedleman Park in Colorado Springs on a wonderful day at the end of October. It’s absolutely my favorite time of year to photograph people, especially people in love! You can tell from the pictures what a fun, relaxed time we had that day.
I’ll be photographing Molly and Justin’s wedding next year. I can’t wait!

Engagement portraits in Colorado Springs: Stephanie + Noah

Noah and Stephanie are feverishly planning their wedding for next spring. Since they’re so new to Colorado Springs (having recently relocated from the DC area) I had a fun time showing them their new downtown when we took these pictures last month. Aren’t they cute?

This heart-shaped sculpture materialized downtown recently. When I saw it I knew I had to use it for some romantic picture or other!

So cute how she has to stand on tiptoe to kiss him.

What a gorgeous couple!

Cadet Chapel wedding: Morgan & Mark!

[ Air Force Academy wedding pictures ]

Did you watch the royal wedding? I did! Yes, Prince William and his bride make a beautiful couple, but I have an even more gorgeous couple to show you! Mark and Morgan’s wedding at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel was perfection. Rain was predicted and we got sunshine, Morgan looked like a modern day Grace Kelly, and Mark was dashing in his dress blues. I love a good old fashioned saber arch, and when zombies enter the fray… well that’s just icing on the proverbial wedding cake!

Wedding ceremony venue: US Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel
Officiate: Reverend Kirk Fowler
Wedding reception venue: Doolittle Hall
Bride’s gown: Martina Liana, from Bustle Baton Rouge

Grace Kelly, anyone? Wow!

A gust of wind picked up Morgan’s train at just the right moment.

The Cadet Chapel is a beautiful place for a wedding.

Mark and his mom, moments after the ceremony.

Love the stained glass in the Cadet Chapel — gorgeous!

Morgan dancing with her dad.

Mark dancing with his mom.

Mark’s grandmother caught the bouquet, and her reaction was PRICELESS.

The DJ played Thriller so I asked everyone to zombie dance, with hilarious results.

The rings, in front of Mark’s iPhone. I took the picture of them kissing the night before, at the rehearsal, so I could set up this picture the next day.

My favorite images of 2010

Here are my favorite images of 2010! I spent the last couple of days going through all the portraits and weddings I did last year, and came up with over 100 images that I consider my favorites. It was really fun to compile this, but even more fun to take all these pictures over the last 12 months. Enjoy the video (it may take a minute to load, please be patient)! To all my lovely clients, thank you for a wonderful 2010, and here’s to an even better 2011!
