Cheyenne Mountain Resort wedding: Alexandra & Rick

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

Happy New Year! I can’t believe that it’s 2011! I’d love to show you some images from my last wedding of 2010. Alexandra and Rick had their wedding and reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Even though it was literally the shortest day of the year (and technically the first day of winter), we got really lucky with a balmy, sunshiny afternoon. Even so, the ceremony was a very brief five minutes, just in case! Alexandra took her style cues from 1930’s Hollywood, and boy did she look glamorous. The jewelry, the fishnet veil, the sleek updo — she looked like a starlet with a handsome leading man on her arm. Warmest congratulations Alex and Rick, your wedding was fabulous!

Alex is a big Chicago Bears fan. (Yes, she wore these Bears undies under her wedding gown!)

Handsome Rick!

A few moments before walking up the aisle, Alex captured a friend’s eye and stuck out her tongue.

Rick watching his bride process up the aisle. Wonderful capture by my assistant Allison.

I love the baby grand at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and have have been meaning to use its reflective surface in a portrait like this. It came out great!

No big fancy cake — instead, designer cupcakes. How cool is that?!?

Alex’s grandma, with whom she’s very close, was surprised by a round of Happy Birthday and her own custom cupcake. She turned 90 a couple of days later.

That’s Alex’s mom on the left, giving her a kiss.

Da Bears!

Fine Arts Center wedding: JJ & Jennifer

[ wedding photographers Colorado Springs ]

On November 11th, Veterans Day, I donated my services to a good cause called Weddings for Warriors. It’s a way for our servicemen and women to celebrate the wedding of their dreams for free! There were 14 Weddings for Warriors in Colorado Springs that day. I was very honored to be a participant.

My clients, Jennifer and JJ, have actually been married for a decade (although they look so young!), so they renewed their vows instead. It was very touching, especially JJ’s vows. All professional services were donated, as well as Jennifer’s gown. The Fine Arts Center generously offered their beautiful new wing; Gentry’s Flowers provided the bouquet, and Carolyn Dekok of Classic Designs lent her excellent event planning skills. It was a beautiful event!

Overall event coordination: Marty Gagg at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post

Jennifer & JJ’s individual event planner: Carolyn Dekok of Classic Designs
All gowns were generously donated by Alfred Angelo
Jennifer’s hair and makeup: Veda Salon
Floral design: Gentry’s Flowers
Ceremony venue: The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center

Their daughters, J and E, served as flower girls.

JJ has had four tours in Iraq and will soon be headed to Afghanistan.

Little girls looooooove to twirl!

What a sweet little family :o)

I told him to stick his tongue in her ear. Love her reaction!

Wedding pictures in Manitou Springs: Shanda and Marcus

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

Some of my favorite clients! Shanda and Marcus recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, and on the big day I photographed them on the grounds of the Briarhurst Manor in Manitou Springs (many thanks to Allison there for giving us the run of the mansion!). Shanda, who had their first baby less than three short months ago, looked incredible in her original wedding dress, and Marcus got a snappy new suit just for the occasion. They looked hot! And madly in love. Happy anniversary you two!

I love this one!

If you think Marcus and Shanda are gorgeous, you should see their son. He’s PERFECT.

I really like this last shot of Shanda — such dramatic lighting!

Colorado Springs engagement portraits: Alex & Rick

[ Engagement portraits in Colorado Springs ]

Alex and Rick are having their wedding right around Christmastime at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We did their engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago in Cheyenne CaƱon on a beautiful, warm fall day. It was a lot of fun. Even the dogs got into it!

I got exactly three decent pictures with the dogs, Athena and Lady, and exactly one of those had everyone looking my way. Ha! It was worth the effort — what a great portrait :o)

Cheyenne Canon is so beautiful! They ordered a large print of this one. It’s going to look great in their home!

Jillian & Jack’s Briarhurst Manor wedding

This is my gorgeous friend Jillian’s wedding at the Briarhurst Manor, and I was so flattered to be the lucky photographer who got to document it. It was a perfect October day, sunny and golden, and everyone had a great time. Jillian looked so beautiful! Congrats Jack and Jillian, it was a dream day!

Don’t you just love her sexy shoes?

Jillian’s nieces were the flower girls. I love how this one had a litte mini bouquet. And if you look closely you’ll see that her fingernails are painted red. A girl after my own heart!

The ceremony begins!

Jillian’s son, Connor, served as ring bearer. He did a great job!

Moments after the ceremony.

I looooooove this image of Jillian! I think she looks so serene and regal!

Jillian has the most beautiful eyes.
