Sylvan Dale Ranch wedding: Molly & Justin

Don’t you think it’s just too good to be true to get married in a town called Loveland? And the Sylvan Dale Ranch is so beautiful and just so… Colorado. I’d never been there before, and now that I have I hope I get to shoot another wedding there soon! I love a good old fashioned western wedding on a ranch, and Molly and Justin’s wedding was so pretty, filled with charming little details (and pie! yum!), not to mention Mother Nature’s grand contributions. The weather was perfect and the Big Thompson River filled our ears with its music. A magical day.

She looks so happy here. I love it.

Catching Justin’s eye as her dad escorts her up the aisle.

They have a tree swing at the ranch.  How could we not take a picture with it?!?

See, I told you it was pretty there.  Just gorgeous.

Candies formed like robin’s eggs, in an adorable little nest. Almost too pretty to eat!

The centerpieces were tree branches hung with origami cranes.

Their first dance.

R & T’s elegant Air Force Academy wedding!

I ended my wedding season with Rick and Tatiana’s gorgeous wedding at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel and the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Tatiana looked AMAZING in her fabulous gown, and of course I love all the pomp and circumstance of a military wedding. And even though it was freezing cold out, everyone in the wedding party suffered a few minutes of chill for Rick and Tatiana to get a classic Air Force group shot in front of the many planes on display at the Academy. So worth it! Thanks guys for ending my wedding season with a bang!

It was freezing outside! The wedding party gamely suffered the chill for a few minutes to get this photo for the bride and groom.

The wedding reception was held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

My favorite images of 2010

Here are my favorite images of 2010! I spent the last couple of days going through all the portraits and weddings I did last year, and came up with over 100 images that I consider my favorites. It was really fun to compile this, but even more fun to take all these pictures over the last 12 months. Enjoy the video (it may take a minute to load, please be patient)! To all my lovely clients, thank you for a wonderful 2010, and here’s to an even better 2011!

Cheyenne Mountain Resort wedding: Alexandra & Rick

[ Colorado Springs wedding photographers ]

Happy New Year! I can’t believe that it’s 2011! I’d love to show you some images from my last wedding of 2010. Alexandra and Rick had their wedding and reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Even though it was literally the shortest day of the year (and technically the first day of winter), we got really lucky with a balmy, sunshiny afternoon. Even so, the ceremony was a very brief five minutes, just in case! Alexandra took her style cues from 1930’s Hollywood, and boy did she look glamorous. The jewelry, the fishnet veil, the sleek updo — she looked like a starlet with a handsome leading man on her arm. Warmest congratulations Alex and Rick, your wedding was fabulous!

Alex’s dog, Lady, “helped” with the preparations.

Alex is a big Chicago Bears fan. (Yes, she wore these Bears undies under her wedding gown!)

Handsome Rick!

A few moments before walking up the aisle, Alex captured a friend’s eye and stuck out her tongue.

Rick watching his bride process up the aisle. Wonderful capture by my assistant Allison.

I love the baby grand at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and have have been meaning to use its reflective surface in a portrait like this. It came out great!

No big fancy cake — instead, designer cupcakes. How cool is that?!?

Alex’s grandma, with whom she’s very close, was surprised by a round of Happy Birthday and her own custom cupcake. She turned 90 a couple of days later.

That’s Alex’s mom on the left, giving her a kiss.

Jillian & Jack’s Briarhurst Manor wedding

This is my gorgeous friend Jillian’s wedding at the Briarhurst Manor, and I was so flattered to be the lucky photographer who got to document it. It was a perfect October day, sunny and golden, and everyone had a great time. Jillian looked so beautiful! Congrats Jack and Jillian, it was a dream day!

Don’t you just love her sexy shoes?

Jillian’s nieces were the flower girls. I love how this one had a litte mini bouquet. And if you look closely you’ll see that her fingernails are painted red. A girl after my own heart!

The ceremony begins!

Jillian’s son, Connor, served as ring bearer. He did a great job!

Moments after the ceremony.

I looooooove this image of Jillian! I think she looks so serene and regal!

Jillian has the most beautiful eyes.
