My day with Jaizen and Greg started out sunny but windy and ended in blizzard-like conditions! They were real troupers though, and cheerfully hugged, kissed and vogued for my camera everywhere from Ute Valley Park, to the Arts District, and finally downtown Colorado Springs for their engagement portraits. And they never stopped smiling. Way to survive the elements, guys — it was so worth it! I love these pictures!
Welcome to the new Click Photography blog!
If you were a follower of my old blog, http://click-photography.blogspot.com, please take a minute to update your RSS to my new address, www.clickphotography.net/blog. I actually have not really posted anything interesting on the old blog in months, because I was anticipating launching this one — but as you know, things take time, and time is something I’m perpetually short on! But after much agony and delay, I can finally make a post! I suppose the good news (and there’s always a silver lining) is that I have plenty of material hoarded on my hard drive for the new blog :^)
To kick things off, here are a handful of my favorite images from Jaime and Sam’s engagement portrait shoot that we did at the very end of October in Blackhawk. Jaime’s into all things vintage, especially cocktails and burlesque, and Sam’s a hunky firefighter. Together, fireworks! Enjoy!
A & E’s rather awesome engagement session
Well this was a fun one! Alex proposed to Emily in the Garden of the Gods, so naturally we took some nice portraits there and they’re wonderful, but the ones that came AFTER the Garden of the Gods were the icing on the cake! Alex is an Air Force pilot, and they both wanted aircraft to feature significantly in their engagement portraits. Off we went to the Peterson Air and Space Museum (on Pete Field), where there are quite a few really cool vintage planes and jets. The sun was just going down and it was the most dramatic lighting I could have hoped for. These guys seriously rocked it! I think this is my favorite engagement session ever! :o)
The funny story behind this photo: I asked Emily and Alex to smooch for the camera. There were lots of tourists around watching, including a family with little kids. As Alex and Emily kissed, one of the children said loudly, “Ewwwwww! They’re kissing!” It was hilarious!
Dramatic scenery and lighting courtesy of Mother Nature :o)
I think this one’s my favorite from the whole session.
Top Gun!
Pretty cool, huh?
Couples portraits in Colorado Springs: Allison + Chris
The camera looooooooves Allison.
We took this one as a joke. I told Chris that since he has a Porsche, he must pose for the traditional “proud Porsche owning gazing off into the distance” shot. Funny!
My favorite shot of the day. Allison looks great!
Mad reflector-holding skillz by Chris.
Erin + Christopher: Engaged!
These two lovebirds are getting married on September 5th at the Briarhurst — I can’t wait, ’cause you know it’s going to be a stylish wedding! We did their engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago at Red Rock Canyon and at the Manitou arcade on a VERY rainy day. Aren’t they a cute couple?
