Liz and Michael’s maternity session was special, because I’ve been photographing Michael’s large family in one way or another for over a decade now. Wedding pictures, baby portraits, family gatherings — you name it, I have documented it for the extended Ziccardi family and I’ve enjoyed every minute. So when Michael and Liz got engaged, I was tickled that they chose me to photograph their wedding. The early days of the pandemic forced a bit of a change in their plans and they ended up eloping, but even so, I got the photograph their special day — its tiny scale made it even more sweet and romantic, in my eyes. (The last photo in this series is from their wedding day, just for fun.)
Urban Family Portraits
Check out these cool urban family portraits! The N family wanted something different and unique, a set of portraits that reflect their personalities both as a family and as individuals. Single mom Mindy requested Evergreen Cemetery as one of the locations, not because they’re morbid or “goth,” but because they love Colorado Springs history and are enthralled by how it’s so well represented in this beautiful and serene place. (I agree with them!) After getting some nice portraits of them at the cemetery, we moved on to a more casual vibe in a favorite alleyway downtown. We were lucky to have such beautiful, mild weather on this mid January day, and I love the great urban family portraits that I got of this close knit family.
Casual Family Pictures in Fox Run Park
It’s the M family, returning clients who wanted casual family pictures in Fox Run Park. I first photographed Shannon and Eric several years ago when they got engaged, then I photographed their nuptials at the Craftwood Inn in Manitou Springs. To this day theirs are some of my favorite wedding pictures I’ve ever taken. When V was born a year or two later, they called me up for some newborn portraits, and now six years later I was very tickled to see this little family again and make some new images for them. Look how beautiful V is! Just beyond beautiful. She looks so much like both Shannon and Eric, a perfect blending of the two of them. Not surprisingly she’s an extremely bright little one, too — loquacious, adorable, poised and outgoing.
It was so nice to see V again and get to spend a little time getting to know her. I had a wonderful time hanging out with all three of them and making these sweet, casual family pictures in Fox Run Park.
Family Portraits in Fox Run Park
I just love these family portraits of the Browns that I did in Fox Run Park in September! I’ve been photographing Samantha since she was a tween, and now she’s the mother of a tween, so that tells you how far back this relationship goes. I’ve documented Sam through practically all the stages of her life, and now that she and Joe have added a new little human to their lineup it was time to make some new family portraits, in Fox Run Park since that’s one of their favorite spots to spend time together. What a beautiful family! Aiden is a handsome little fella, and Izzie is suddenly so grown up looking now! It was such a pleasure to make these portraits for them and meet their new little guy! I’m in love!
Family Photography in Palmer Park
As a family photographer, I have to say that the favorite thing about my job is watching families form and grow, and documenting their progress over time. Lucky me! So I love the latest portraits I made of the D family in Palmer Park last year. (Yes I’m still catching up on sharing pictures I made months ago ) I have been photographing this beautiful family from its very beginnings, when Sean and Bobbi got married at the historic Pauline Chapel in 2009. After a couple of years of enjoying being footloose and fancy free newlyweds, they added a daughter and then a son to the lineup. It was no surprise to me that Bobbi and Sean’s children turned out to be gorgeous, and I had the honor of doing newborn portraits of each and then doing family portraits every now and again over the years. Look how big they are now! What a lovely family in every way. I always enjoy a chance to catch up with the D clan and make new pictures as the children grow. Have I mentioned that I love being a family photographer?!? I’m so lucky!
