Reid & Ollie

Reid and Ollie are four years old and man did they keep me on my toes taking their pictures! Their mom, Beth, was a guest at a wedding that I shot five years ago; when she brought the boys to town to visit relatives she looked me up for some portraits of her two little stinkers. Aren’t they cute? My day had gotten off to a bad start (bad news in my inbox), but within minutes of meeting Reid and Ollie I was in such a great mood — they seem to have that effect on you! They were so full of laughter, mischief and energy, it was like spending time with sunshine.

Thanks guys for brightening my day! Tamera

We took all of these at Palmer Park. The boys ran immediately to the rocks and started climbing like pros! Absolutely fearless.

Ollie is the king of the hill!

Sometimes when you ask four year old boys to smile, this is what you get.

I love how Reid’s little tongue is sticking out with the effort of balancing on this chain. It’s so cute!

I love love LOVE this picture! It just screams “I’m four!”

It was such a hot day, after our shoot we went for ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Within moments Ollie was covered in the stuff.

Jakob, Jessica & Ryan

Jakob’s my new boyfriend! Just kidding. But I do think he’s a cutie! Anyone as cheerful as Jakob is okay in my book! A couple of weekends ago, he and his parents, Ryan and Jessica, spent a little time with me and my camera at the park, and here are the results. I think this is the cutest family ever! And look at Jakob’s blond hair! I had so much fun with all of them and I just love the pictures I got. Thanks for a great day guys!

Sean & Bobbi

This was a fun wedding! Bobbi and Sean tied the knot on 06/07/08, which turned out to be a very popular date. (Sorry to all those other couples who asked about my availability for that date — it pays to book early!) This was a wedding that I had been looking forward to because I knew it was going to be a killer party. It turned out to be very sentimental too. These two have a great bunch of friends and family, many of whom traveled from Bobbi’s tiny hometown in Iowa to be here for their special day. And unless you live in a cave I’m sure you’ve heard that Iowa is battling massive floods right now, and those same people are hard hit, so if you want to help you can donate here: http://american.redcross.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ggl_main&s_subsrc=DonateToRedCross&s_src=F7FWE001&gclid=CO28ufeUh5QCFRZjnAodnjN_WA I made a donation via the internet and it took about 30 seconds — easy peasy.

I had a great time documenting your day Sean and Bobbi — warmest congratulations! And to those in the midwest suffering through all this flooding, please know we’re pulling for you!

I love a long, dramatic veil!

Bobbi & Sean hired a party bus to take them bar hopping between the ceremony and reception. What a fun couple!

First stop: Tony’s, where they first met! Who says you can’t meet your soulmate in a bar?

I call this one “Bud Light With Bridal Couple”

Bottoms up!

The cake was snickerdoodle with cinnamon filling. I’m not really a cinnamon person, but I swear this was the yummiest wedding cake I’ve ever tasted!

Phantom Canyon always serves such top notch food. I love doing weddings there!

The best man, Kyle, jokingly had one of the groomsmen hold up cue cards for his toast.

But then he got a little choked up delivering it! This was a great moment.

Marianne & Mel

On Saturday, June 7th, my beautiful cousin Marianne married her longtime boyfriend, Mel. Since I couldn’t attend their wedding (I was shooting Bobbi and Sean’s wedding, which I’ll blog next!), I gifted Marianne and Mel with a “day after” shoot. I love the concept of the day after shoot — there’s no wedding stress, no time constraints, no distractions. Just one more chance to wear your wedding dress and glam it up for the camera and get some really amazing shots. It’s a great idea and every bride should do it! (You can even do a little trash the dress if you want, and make it even more fun!) It only makes sense. Your wedding images are the ones you keep for a lifetime, what you save if your house is on fire, what you show your grandchildren. Yet on a wedding day I usually only get a few minutes alone with the bride to capture those iconic images. Just think what you can do on a day after shoot!

We did Marianne and Mel’s shoot at the Broadmoor, where they had held their wedding reception. Mel was feeling a little under the weather so he went home after the first half hour, but Marianne and I really went for it and took some amazing pictures. I wish I could have been there on their wedding day, but this was the next best thing! I think Marianne makes an awesome, beautiful bride, don’t you?

Devon & Angela

Here’s a great wedding I shot on May 17th. Angela and Devon actually booked me over a year ago so there’s been a big build up, and they didn’t disappoint! Their wedding was colorful and fun, and at the end of the night I hated to go home because the party was bumpin’! These two have great taste, in fact they’re one of the most stylish couples I’ve ever worked with. I knew their wedding would follow suit! They couldn’t have asked for a better day to tie the knot — the weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Their ceremony took place at Hillside Gardens, one of my favorite outdoor venues, then cocktails at the Warehouse, followed by dinner and dancing at Tre Luna.

What a wonderful day! Angela and Devon, you guys were great. Happy honeymoon!

This photo was taken behind my old studio! I had just moved into my new studio space the week before, so this was kind of a “farewell to my old place” picture.

Officially the cutest wedding favors ever! And a really cool cake too.

Toward the end of the night. Even though Angela wears heels every day, those Betsey Johnson pumps still got the best of her!
