Mason & his peeps

This is Mason and his mom and dad, Andrea and Travis. These guys took advantage of my spring family portrait special. Mason’s five months old and is the master of all he surveys. What a cute little guy! Seriously, he was just adorable. We did these portraits about a week and a half ago in their home and at Monument Valley Park. Mason was in a contemplative state of mind so he only gave us one smile, but no matter what his expression he is a cute little stinker! He’s right at that age where he’s holding up his head and curious about the world around him, but not quite able to scoot around yet and explore. It was fun capturing all the cute expressions on his little face and watching his adoring parents dote on him.

This cute little smile is the only one Mason would grant me, and it was before the photo shoot officially started! Glad I had my camera at the ready.

Just look at those big baby blues! Heartbreaker!

Ian & Julie

I shot the most wonderful wedding on Saturday! Julie and Ian have been together seven years and they’re madly in love. Julie was the maid of honor at a wedding I shot in January of 2003, and we hit it off like gangbusters. She then proceeded to refer several brides to me over the years, so when Ian finally proposed to her I was very excited that they chose me to be their photographer. I had been waiting for this day a long time! When it finally came, it was spectacular — every girl’s dream come true. Beautiful bride, handsome groom, amazing scenery… The ceremony was emotional and the party was so much fun. Julie and Ian, I’m so happy for you and I’m ecstatic that your big day was perfection!

If Julie looks ecstatic, it’s because she is!

Flower girl Maddie couldn’t resist trying on the garter

Julie’s mom Mary watches as maid of honor Rose helps Julie with her necklace.

Julie & Rose exchange high fives as the awestruck flower girls, Madeline and Maddie, admire the bride in all her splendor.

They took their train-holding job very seriously!

Julie and Rose have been best friends since high school. I shot Rose’s wedding way back in January of 2003. Julie was the maid of honor then; now their roles are reversed.

Julie’s dad Dennis giving her away. I think Ian looks a little nervous!

I think I have a new favorite picture.

Here’s what the bridesmaids did immediately after the ceremony!

The amazing view at the Garden of the Gods Club

I love this picture of Julie running in her gown. It’s just cool.

Their first dance was to “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. Everyone cried (including me!).

We had a little visit from Bambi!

Marianne’s wedding!

My beautiful cousin Marianne is getting married next month! Today was her final dress fitting at Danelle’s Bridal. Wow! What a fantastic dress! It was my first time seeing it, I was having a hard time visualizing it from Marianne’s description so this was exciting. And she looked so pretty! I can’t be at Marianne’s wedding because I’ll be shooting Bobbi and Sean‘s big event that day, but I’ll be doing a “day after” shoot with Marianne and Mel and I can’t wait. I’ll blog those pictures too!

Marianne is not just beautiful, she’s smart as a whip, accomplished and successful. We’re all very proud of her and happy as can be for her and Mel. Love you sweetie!

She’s going to be a gorgeous bride!

Marianne has great taste! I think her Maggie Sottero dress is unique and stylish.

Danelle’s Bridal is awesome! I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful gowns and accessories there, and the white glove service. I highly recommend it if you’re gown shopping!

A quick snap of Marianne’s rather awesome diamond…

Okay, this dog has absolutely nothing to do with Marianne’s wedding but I had to blog his funny face! His name is Hershey, and he’s one of the house dogs at Best Foreign Used Auto Parts over on the west side. Pat and I were looking for a hubcap for our Volvo and this was our welcoming committee.

A face only a mother could love! This is Hershey’s buddy Omar. There was another funny dog there named Irwin but he was too much of a spaz, I couldn’t get a good shot of him. Anyone who has goofy dogs like this is all right in my book.
