Monica + Mark

Monica and Mark were married at the Garden of the Gods Club on a chilly Saturday in September. I want to thank my friend Brad Walters for stepping in and covering their wedding for me, as I was unexpectedly hospitalized and unable to photograph it myself. Brad did a bang up job despite the low light and rain. Clearly the weather did not dampen anyone’s spirits! Monica looked like a goddess, and Mark was so relaxed and handsome. I wish I could have been their to document their joy, but looking at Brad’s pictures is the next best thing! Congratulations you two!

The ring pillow and flower girl’s basket were handcrafted by loved ones.

Monica gifted her bridesmaids with these beautiful jeweled cuffs.

Giving Monica away. I’m dying to know what was so funny!

Gretchen & John’s Garden of the Gods Club wedding

Gretchen and John were married June 6th at Pauline Chapel in the Broadmoor, with their reception at the beautiful Garden of the Gods Club. All I can say is WOW! It was a perfect day, everything went so smoothly and everyone was so happy!
I had a lot of fun documenting all the joy and the craziness. Congratulations you two!

My assistant Sarah took this adorable picture of the flower girls while I was setting up a big group shot.

Another great capture by Sarah.

Getting into the limo…

and getting out of the limo. Hmmm, there seems to be a recurring theme here.

The hilarious cake topper.

Gretchen & John

I finally got to meet Gretchen and John, who hired me long distance months and months ago for their upcoming June wedding, and they are so much fun! We took these engagement portraits a couple of weekends ago. Since their reception is going to be at the Garden of the Gods Club, we decided it would be appropos to do some of the portraits at the Garden of the Gods. For the first time in my life I did the tourist thing and took pictures of the actual sign — I felt like a dork but I’m so happy with how they turned out.

Can’t wait for the wedding, guys!

Ian & Julie

I shot the most wonderful wedding on Saturday! Julie and Ian have been together seven years and they’re madly in love. Julie was the maid of honor at a wedding I shot in January of 2003, and we hit it off like gangbusters. She then proceeded to refer several brides to me over the years, so when Ian finally proposed to her I was very excited that they chose me to be their photographer. I had been waiting for this day a long time! When it finally came, it was spectacular — every girl’s dream come true. Beautiful bride, handsome groom, amazing scenery… The ceremony was emotional and the party was so much fun. Julie and Ian, I’m so happy for you and I’m ecstatic that your big day was perfection!

If Julie looks ecstatic, it’s because she is!

Flower girl Maddie couldn’t resist trying on the garter

Julie & Rose exchange high fives as the awestruck flower girls, Madeline and Maddie, admire the bride in all her splendor.

They took their train-holding job very seriously!

Julie and Rose have been best friends since high school. I shot Rose’s wedding way back in January of 2003. Julie was the maid of honor then; now their roles are reversed.

Julie’s dad Dennis giving her away. I think Ian looks a little nervous!

I think I have a new favorite picture.

Here’s what the bridesmaids did immediately after the ceremony!

The amazing view at the Garden of the Gods Club

I love this picture of Julie running in her gown. It’s just cool.

Their first dance was to “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. Everyone cried (including me!).

We had a little visit from Bambi!
