Jay & Aleisha

I am so behind in blogging! Sorry, loyal readers! I’ve been shooting so much that I haven’t had much time to do fun stuff — I’m spending all my time trying to keep up with the editing! Anyway, here’s Aleisha and Jay, high school sweethearts that will be tying the knot at the end of next month. We actually shot these almost two weeks ago. What a cute couple! We had so much fun on this shoot. It was almost like we were doing a Gap ad or something (I love my job!). Some of the pics were taken at America the Beautiful park (such a cool sculpture/fountain there), and some were taken in my favorite alley south of downtown. These guys were up for anything photographically speaking, so we tried a bunch of different stuff. Can’t wait for their wedding — you know it’s going to be fun and different!

Look, we all wore the same shoes!

Aleisha is going to be a beautiful bride.

Ian & Julie

I shot the most wonderful wedding on Saturday! Julie and Ian have been together seven years and they’re madly in love. Julie was the maid of honor at a wedding I shot in January of 2003, and we hit it off like gangbusters. She then proceeded to refer several brides to me over the years, so when Ian finally proposed to her I was very excited that they chose me to be their photographer. I had been waiting for this day a long time! When it finally came, it was spectacular — every girl’s dream come true. Beautiful bride, handsome groom, amazing scenery… The ceremony was emotional and the party was so much fun. Julie and Ian, I’m so happy for you and I’m ecstatic that your big day was perfection!

If Julie looks ecstatic, it’s because she is!

Julie & Rose exchange high fives as the awestruck flower girls, Madeline and Maddie, admire the bride in all her splendor.

They took their train-holding job very seriously!

Julie and Rose have been best friends since high school. I shot Rose’s wedding way back in January of 2003. Julie was the maid of honor then; now their roles are reversed.

Julie’s dad Dennis giving her away. I think Ian looks a little nervous!

I think I have a new favorite picture.

Here’s what the bridesmaids did immediately after the ceremony!

I love this picture of Julie running in her gown. It’s just cool.

Their first dance was to “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. Everyone cried (including me!).

We had a little visit from Bambi!

Favorite images of 2007

I sat down today and picked out my favorite images from 2007. These are the ones that really stick in my head as some of the better pictures I took last year. Some of them are technically good and others have personal meaning to me. I’ll keep the chit chat to a minimum and just let the pictures do the talking.

Enjoy! Feel free to leave comments if you want. I love comments.

This is Claire, the daughter of one of my favorite clients. Isn’t she cute?!?

The breathtaking Denver Art Museum

One of my all time favorite weddings. The groom was 70 and the bride was in her 50’s. This is his expression upon seeing her escorted up the aisle.

My favorite senior portrait subject of the year, Eboni

I love this picture because of who’s in it, my mom.

My little cat, Lilo.

One of my oldest friends, Magdalena (I call her Joanie), just before her wedding. She was so nervous!

From my last wedding of the year: the bride, Laura, and her soon-to-be mother in law, Chol, having a moment

From a western wedding I did in May

I love love love this picture of the flowergirl watching the wedding guests arrive.

Four sisters

They had a boy just about three weeks after this picture was taken! His name is Riley.

This one and the three below it are from an Audrey Hepburn styled shoot. The first two were specifically inspired by “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. I had so much fun taking these!

This image and the three below it are from a “trash the dress” shoot. The funnest time I’ve ever with a wedding gown!
