A boudoir portrait shoot is an empowering, exciting and fun experience!
I have mad respect for any woman brave enough to do a boudoir photo shoot in her undies! When you come to me for boudoir portraits, you’re 100% in a safe and supportive space. That said, it’s only natural to have questions about the process. Many women are very confident in front of the camera, but others may feel a little more tentative, especially in lingerie. I am very sensitive to that and very attuned to and supportive of your comfort level. Here are some of the most common questions I get.
Q: I’m a little self-conscious about my body. What if I have scars, cellulite, stretch marks or love handles? Do you retouch?
A: I’ve got your back! Skillful posing and lighting coupled with advanced retouching techniques will result in beautiful images of you — but you’ll still look like you, promise. My goal with both posing and retouching is to maximize your assets, which means your images will be subtly retouched and perfected to the best of my abilities.
Q: I’m not some 20 year-old supermodel, I’m a busy soccer mom. Am I too old to be thinking about doing this?
A: The ideal subject for a boudoir portrait is a woman of any age and any size, who wants to look her best and have her beauty immortalized in a series of stunning photographs.
Q: How do I display the images? I don’t know if I’ll want to put these on my wall.
A: Most women opt for a custom designed Little Black Book, a very intimate gift for themselves or their significant other.
Q: What about hair and makeup? I’m not very skilled at those things.
A: Not employing an in-house hair and makeup artist helps me to keep my costs down for you. That said, I can recommend some top notch hair and makeup artists to make you look your best.
Q: Can I bring a friend along for support and encouragement?
A: Absolutely! And if you refer a friend who books their own boudoir portrait session, you’ll be rewarded with additional discounts.
