Liz and Michael’s maternity session was special, because I’ve been photographing Michael’s large family in one way or another for over a decade now. Wedding pictures, baby portraits, family gatherings — you name it, I have documented it for the extended Ziccardi family and I’ve enjoyed every minute. So when Michael and Liz got engaged, I was tickled that they chose me to photograph their wedding. The early days of the pandemic forced a bit of a change in their plans and they ended up eloping, but even so, I got the photograph their special day — its tiny scale made it even more sweet and romantic, in my eyes. (The last photo in this series is from their wedding day, just for fun.)

Family Photography in Palmer Park
As a family photographer, I have to say that the favorite thing about my job is watching families form and grow, and documenting their progress over time. Lucky me! So I love the latest portraits I made of the D family in Palmer Park last year. (Yes I’m still catching up on sharing pictures I made months ago ) I have been photographing this beautiful family from its very beginnings, when Sean and Bobbi got married at the historic Pauline Chapel in 2009. After a couple of years of enjoying being footloose and fancy free newlyweds, they added a daughter and then a son to the lineup. It was no surprise to me that Bobbi and Sean’s children turned out to be gorgeous, and I had the honor of doing newborn portraits of each and then doing family portraits every now and again over the years. Look how big they are now! What a lovely family in every way. I always enjoy a chance to catch up with the D clan and make new pictures as the children grow. Have I mentioned that I love being a family photographer?!? I’m so lucky!
Maternity Portraits in Palmer Park
Love these sweet maternity portraits that I took in Palmer Park a couple of weeks ago! I shot Alex’s senior pictures way back in 2009 (I think — so long ago!) and since then he’s achieved a lot! Most importantly, when he was in grad school he met his soul mate, Rachel. They’ve been married for a couple of years now, and as you can see, they’re starting a family. I’m so pleased that they came to me to make these maternity portraits for them. I just love documenting my clients’ life landmarks, and this is a big one. I can’t wait for this little girl to arrive!
Mother-Daughter Portraits at Palmer Park
Lori and Jaylin wanted some relaxed, casual, mother-daughter portraits at Palmer Park, which turned out to be the perfect location to showcase the natural beauty of Colorado Springs. It was a glorious day for picture taking — sunny and a little breezy. I had a lot of fun working with them and I love how the pictures turned out! Look how gorgeous these two women are! Not to mention Palmer Park, which is one of my favorite spots for portraits. Thanks Lori and Jay, it was nice hanging out with you and capturing these nice pictures of you both!
