A few pictures of the wonderful album I created from James and Alli’s downtown Colorado Springs wedding. Alli was such a beautiful bride! They will always have this beautiful, custom designed book to remind them of their wedding day and to hand down to their children. I’m really proud of how it came out and I know they’ll treasure it for a lifetime!
Mining Exchange Wedding in Downtown Colorado Springs :: James + Alli
This beautiful, meaningful Mining Exchange wedding in downtown Colorado Springs was extra special to me. I consider this lovely bride, Alli, to be a personal friend. We met a few years ago when she did some modeling for me, and I became quite fond of her! So when she and James found each other (her mom set them up on a blind date!), got serious, and then got engaged, I was so tickled that they chose me to be their wedding photographer.
Of course their fun, casual Mining Exchange wedding in downtown Colorado Springs was perfection! Alli dressed in her signature boho chic style, down to her bouquet and the wildflowers in her hair. I’ve never seen her so beautiful and so happy, and you can see by the way he looks at her that James is deeply in love. They make a great team, these two. What a wonderful day. So happy for you, Alli and James!
Mining Exchange wedding :: Jacqueline + Jon
Another fantastic Mining Exchange wedding! Lovebirds Jackie and Jon tied the proverbial knot on January 1st, New Year’s Day. Since Jon is in the Army, the wedding ceremony was held at Soldiers Chapel on Fort Carson; their reception followed at the Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs.
Jackie took the idea of becoming a military wife (and new stepmother) and ran with it. She even wore a camouflage garter! Meanwhile, Jon looked very handsome in his dress uniform, and Jackie’s dad followed suit. I do love a military wedding since I’m an Air Force brat myself and I think the uniforms always look so nice!
I had a blast celebrating Jackie and Jon’s big day with them and their nice families — and I can officially say I’ve never laughed so much at a wedding. We were all in stitches during Jon’s toast to his beautiful bride. It was hilarious! What a fun group of people and a great Mining Exchange wedding! Congratulations, Jackie and Jon!!!
Great Gatsby styled wedding shoot at the Mining Exchange!
Last week I did an Art Déco/Great Gatsby styled wedding shoot at the Windham Grand Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs. The purpose was to show off the Mining Exchange’s elegant new ballroom, the Gold Room, in the gorgeous Art Déco era building adjacent to the main hotel. What a fun day! Our model, Inda, drove over 100 miles to be the “bride”, and the efforts of many wedding professionals all working together made this shoot a huge success. I love the results! I took my visual inspiration from Baz Luhrmann’s “Great Gatsby”. Everything came together just beautifully. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

The Mining Exchange has so many options for a wedding! This empty ballroom was a perfect spot for a dramatic wedding portrait. I love the tall windows and high ceilings!
Gown by Mon Cheri available at Bridal Elegance.
I love how this necklace drops elegantly to the back instead of the front. Gorgeous!
The Gold Room is exquisite! Look at all the authentic Art Déco architecture and details!

This gold and bronze place setting is fabulous!
There was another table set up with pink linens and crystal accents. So pretty.
The large glass disk supported by votives is genius. What a great way to show off a dramatic tablescape!
The headband that Inda is wearing is mine, and it’s a geniune piece from the 1920s. I’ve had it for years. Imagine a flapper wearing it back in the day, what a fun thought! Makeup by Rachel Barker, hair by Paige Hoover at Hotheads Studio.
Gown by Mori Lee available at Bridal Elegance.
There is a beautiful, antique Austrian piano in the lobby of the Mining Exchange. How could I not use it for a wedding portrait?
The Art Déco style pavé earrings from Bridal Elegance were a nice touch.
One of our last shots of the day. Inda is very photogenic, and so is the Mining Exchange! What a great place for a wedding!
Colorado Springs wedding photographer: Gorgeous Brides! (Part 1)
I thought it would be fun to show off some of my favorite bridal portraits I’ve taken over the last few years. Look at all these phenomenally beautiful women! I am so lucky to always have the loveliest brides, inside and out. There were a lot of portraits when all was said and done (and even so, I couldn’t possibly post one from every wedding), so I’m breaking this series up into two posts. Enjoy!
