Another Sweet Colorado Springs Elopement!

Colorado elopement pictures

The bride wore white — a white sweater and jeans, that is! Courtney and Tyler got married their way, in jeans on a beautiful Colorado Springs mountainside, with no witnesses but me and my trusty assistant Joy. Have I mentioned that I love doing elopement photography? As you can imagine, it’s different from documenting a regular wedding, because it’s just me and the couple, there aren’t any wedding details or family portraits or traditions like cutting the cake or throwing the bouquet. This elopement was even more casual than most, though, as you can see! We hiked up to the perfect spot on the Section 16 trail, chatting about this and that as we went. Here’s a fun coincidence: when I asked Courtney where she was from, she told me that she was from Dayton, Ohio. I mentioned that I went to junior high and my first year of high school there, and we discovered that she and I actually went to the same school! What a small world!

After a little over a mile of hiking, we came to the spot that Tyler had picked out just days before, and with a gorgeous, expansive view behind them they said their heartfelt vows, exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a passionate kiss. It was so romantic! Then we wandered around a bit to take some romantic portraits, as the snow began drifting down. It was just wonderful and I enjoyed every minute! Congratulations and all the best, Tyler and Courtney!

Flying Horse Ranch wedding :: Deanna + Paolo

These two sweethearts tied the knot at beautiful Flying Horse Ranch in a morning ceremony followed by brunch. They kept things casual and personal; Deanna chose to go barefoot while and Paolo and his groomsmen all wore black Converse. I love it! I also love that they opted for donuts instead of a big wedding cake, and when they were introduced into the party, tiny Deanna dipped Paolo dramatically and gave him a big smooch! So fun! I had a wonderful time documenting all the love surrounding this sweet couple. Congrats Paolo and Deanna!

Amity + Jorge’s sweet backyard wedding

There was a time when it was common to get married in your parents’ backyard, but nowadays it’s a rarity, which makes it special. I relish the opportunity to document a backyard wedding like Amity and Jorge’s. And funny thing, her parents live on the same street as mine! Only a few doors away, actually! So this was doubly fun for me. Jorge has carried a torch for Amity ever since high school, when they were good friends. Several years (and children!) later, they reconnected on Facebook, and wouldn’t you know it, they fell truly in love. What a great story! Congratulations Jorge and Amity!

A woodland themed wedding shoot at the Edgewood Inn

Edgewood Inn wedding Woodland Park

I love the idea of a woodland wedding! I did this styled shoot last week in collaboration with Rhonda Nichols Floral Design and Bridal Elegance, at the beautiful, rustic Edgewood Inn in Woodland Park. Jordyn modeled simple, flowy gowns, and the design theme featured subtle, woodsy colors like moss green, taupe, claret and eggplant. Just gorgeous! Enjoy! And be inspired!
