I did a cool 1940s photo shoot a couple of weekends ago in Lakewood! My client Holly wanted these pictures to appear like true vintage snapshots, much like those old pictures of our grandparents or great-grandparents living their lives and looking effortlessly perfect in their stylin’ 1940s duds. I purposely did not frame some of these moments expertly, giving them more of a snapshot feel, and I also tried to pose her in ways that weren’t necessarily camera-aware for the same reason. This shoot took a bit of planning, wardrobe and location sourcing, hair and makeup artistry, and finding just the right post-processing touch to make them look legit. In the end I think the images are just amazing and would fit right in with your old family photos. Great Gatsby Photo Shoot :: Brandi
This client, Brandi, has come to me for pinup photos in the past, but this time she wanted something different: she wanted a Gatsby photo shoot! The Mining Exchange Hotel generously allowed us to use their era-appropriate lobby for most of these, and Brandi styled herself perfectly. I love any chance to do something different and original — this was a really fun Great Gatsby photo shoot!
Retro Photo Shoot!
I recently had the great pleasure of photographing the fabulous Michelle Baldwin, a.k.a. Vivienne VaVoom, for this fun retro photo shoot in Colorado Springs!! I hand picked a number of perfect locations for this shoot, and Michelle has a huge wardrobe that fits the era (both true vintage and retro-styled clothing). Bud’s Muffler kindly loaned me their 1955 Chevy pickup, and Russ, who owns the speedometer repair shop on Kiowa Street, also let me use his gorgeous ’56 Corvette. My dear friend Ron at Murphy’s Tavern gave me the run of the place, including their classic horseshoe bar, and we stopped by the Trolley Car Museum for a few snaps there, too. Oh and that greaser who’s “fixing” the Chevy pickup is my very own handsome fella, Pat. We had a blast! All in all it was a fabulous, fun retro photo shoot and I love the pictures!
A woodland themed wedding shoot at the Edgewood Inn
These Edgewood Inn wedding pictures are from an impossibly dreamy styled shoot that I did there a about week ago. I love the idea of a woodland wedding! These ethereal images were created in collaboration with Rhonda Nichols Floral Design and with Bridal Elegance, at the beautiful, rustic Edgewood Inn in Woodland Park. Their contributions to this group effort were absolutely to die for and I absolutely loved everything! Stunning! Jordyn, who is simply exquisite, modeled simple, flowy and feminine gowns, and the design theme featured subtle, woodsy colors like moss green, taupe, claret and eggplant. Just gorgeous! Enjoy these Edgewood Inn wedding pictures, and be inspired!

A modern-day Audrey!
Have you ever wanted to be Audrey Hepburn, just for one day? Check out these fun portraits I did for a client who’s a big Audrey fan. The dress, tiara and cigarette holder are hers, but most of the other accessories are mine. I have an extensive collection of vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories, and it’s always fun when I get to use that stuff on a shoot!
I’m sure you’ve seen the original inspiration for this image! It’s classic!
In the opening sequence of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, Holly Golightly, after a night of partying, emerges from a cab in front of Tiffany’s. She holds a paper sack containing her breakfast, which she eats while gazing into the shop windows. You can see a still from that sequence HERE.

This image was inspired by a 1953 publicity photo (HERE) from the film “Sabrina”. The client brought her own 1950s-era black phone.
